Computer-aided design (CAD) technology in the field of bridge engineering applications enable engineers to be released from many repeat heavy physical and mental, greatly increased labor efficiency so that the traditional means of bridge design and design method has produced significant changes. It become one of a mark in bridge design technology modernization because of greatly contributed to it's progress. CAD technology has made tremendous contributions to the development of civil engineering, but with computer hardware and software rapid development, engineers also made new demands on the software of Bridge CAD.On the basis of the current states of bridge CAD application and the rapid development of software technology, this paper studies systematically on the software development technology of bridge CAD system, the main research content includes:the limitations of the existing CAD software, modern software development technology in the bridge CAD software application, the necessity and feasibility of the integrated bridge CAD system, the components and architecture of the integrated bridge CAD system.Bridge CAD system development technology based on core database system and graphics support system has been studied at length in this paper, and the idea of selecting ACCESS and AutoCAD to serve as the center database management system and graphics support system is brought up. In addition, as a practice of the above theory, This paper try to use ACCESS database management system and VBA tools to develop the database system of continuous bridge to manage data in bridge software uniformly and selects DAO as database link to save and manage the data easily. According to the current situation, this paper has selected VBA development tools for AutoCAD secondary development by the means of OLE, and has achieved the graphics support function of the data query of the pre-treatment system.By means of these studies, the paper gives a complete theoretical analysis for the development of integrated bridge CAD system, and gets a good practical Proof. These work builds up the preliminary fundament based on which this bridge CAD system can be developed further.
