With the development of computer technology, human society has entered into the information age now. Information technology has been widely used in every areas of our society. And database technology is the most important technology for storing and managing information. With the applications of database technology, the traditional centralized database system can no longer meet people's needs in its capability and functionality. Therefore, distributed database system has become the most important technology with its reliability and flexibility characteristics. Together with the development of Internet and database technology distributed database technology is more mature and stronger, which brings unprecedented prosperity and glory to the Information Industry.Because of the distinctive of computer networks, computer architecture, operating systems and database management systems, more and more heterogeneous databases has practical application in distributed database system. Meanwhile, data conversion is a critical issue in the realization of heterogeneous databases.With the continuous development of computer technology, more and more products become sophisticated, the application of heterogeneous database systems are increasingly being used. Data synchronization update is another important issue in heterogeneous database system. Which synchronization strategies can be taken is the key to ensure the system reliability for accurate, timely and efficient completion of the task of data synchronization update.This paper research and design for data synchronization on heterogeneous distributed database. After reading and studying a lot of information, this paper proposes a strategy which combines an improved method of the main text update and the stamp method. And in the project of Distributed File Management System as a data synchronization strategy has been used.Therefore, this paper's researching work is researching of the distributed database system, researching of the heterogeneous data conversion, researching of the data synchronization strategies and designing and Implementation of the Distributed File Management System.In the part of researching the distributed database system, this paper makes a introduction of distributed database system and describes the relevant knowledge of the distributed database system. This part focuses on the origin of the distributed database system and its status,introduces the definitions of the relational database system and the distributed database system, describes the characteristics and classification of the distributed database system, explains the distributed database system architecture and model structure. This part of the study provides theoretical foundation for further research work for the paper.In the part of researching the heterogeneous data conversion, this paper explains the need for data conversion in a heterogeneous distributed environment. Then,this article explains the current technology of heterogeneous data conversion. At present several major heterogeneous data conversion technology are ODBC-based data conversion technology, OLEDB-based data conversion technology, ADO-based data conversion technology, JDBC-based data conversion technology, XML-based data conversion technology. This part describes characteristics and principles of each type of conversion methods. Meanwhile, this part describes the problems, strengths and weaknesses of each method in their application. This part of the paper explains the principles, significance and necessity of heterogeneous data conversion. This part paves the way for the further research work.In the part of researching the data synchronization strategies, this part explains several current strategies of the data synchronization. For example, the multi-site data update method, the main text update method, the snapshot method and the stamp method. Then this part analysis the principle, application conditions, advantages and problems of these data synchronization update strategy. Finally, according to the above strategy, this paper proposes a strategy which combines an improved method of the main text update and stamp method for compensating for the lack of the main text update method and the stamp method. Although the main text update method in the data synchronization update strategies has a broad range of applications and a good basis for the application, there are obvious deficiencies in this method. For example, the failure of the primary site will impact the update of data of other sites, and updating in a short time will lead to the data that does not with the original data. Therefore, this part improves the traditional method of the main text update and combines with the stamp method. This new strategy solved the problems mentioned above successfully. And this new strategy can be able to complete the data synchronization update efficiently and accurately. Finally, the study of the paper combines with the project of Distributed File Management System. The project of Distributed File Management System is a document management system which contains a number of functions for parts detail management, file management, system upgrading and data synchronization updating. To build a high-quality data synchronization update platform is its core function. In the Implementation of the project of Distributed File Management System, this paper uses the data synchronization strategy which combines an improved method of the main text update and the stamp method. The consummation of the project of Distributed File Management System verify the correctness, rationality and reliability of this strategy which combines an improved method of the main text update and the stamp method .This paper gets a well result through the practical application of the project and achieves the purpose of this research. This strategy which combines an improved method of the main text update and the stamp method has been applied to practical using as a major data synchronization solution of Distributed File Management System.
