Investigation On Software UI Design Based On Virtual Reality Art

In the digital virtual environment, as a kind of intermediary, the interface is utilized to realize the interaction between user and computer. With the technological development and social progress, the evaluation standards for software product have not only remained in its functions, but also in its ease and comfort to use.Thus, interface design becomes a important part of software design. The virtual reality thought is introduced to study the content, process and principle of software UI design in this paper and great efforts have been made to integrate all the aspects of software UI design into a complete theoretical framework. The concrete contents include,1) After reviewing the history of interface, software coding and software interface design, a viewpoint is proposed by author that it is the establishment of software UI design industry, as well as carrying out research on UI design, that reveals the transition of software UI design from function-oriented type to art-oriented type. Then, a thorough analysis is carried out on software coding and UI design, and it is concluded that the virtual reality thought represents the mainline of software engineering development and the guiding ideology of both aspects. Based on the virtual reality thought, the developing trend of software UI design is studied. 2) According to the characteristics of software products, the content and principle of software UI design are analyzed and the concrete embodiment of virtual reality art in software UI design content is described. A basic design flow of software product is summarized and the general process of software UI design introduced. What's more, the outstanding features of modern software UI design are analyzed in detail.3) For the visual elements of software UI design, the physical and psychological characteristics of people are investigated in the perception of color, graph, text and animation, and great efforts are made to create a natural, beautiful, interactive man-machine environment by using virtual reality thought. The concrete and abstract associations of color are summed up and the skill of getting color scheme from nature by using natural color matching method. The important role of the visual metaphor of graph in software UI design is illustrated. In order to satisfy the understandability and learnability of text, the methods to enhance the legibility and readability of text are discussed in terms of wording and layout.4) From the perspective of practice, the basic composition of software UI, the Windows standard controls and its corresponding attributes in SkinMagic Builder are studied. Then, two examples of software UI design are provided. One represents the traditional design process and the other modern design process. Through comparative analysis, the prominent features of modern software UI design are further illustrated and the application skills of virtual reality art in software UI design are demonstrated.
