Antennas are indispensable components in any radio system。Simply said, antennas are conversion devices or transducers between guided wave and free space wave, complete the conversion between space wave and transmission line guided wave。The basic function of antenna is radiating or receiving radio waves。respectively be called transmitting antenna or receiving antenna。With the development of society and the advance in technology, the application of radio frequency bands are also constantly expanded。it promotes the production of ultra-wideband electromagnetics。In the UWB frequency band, time domain characteristics show that, time-domain electromagnetic wave is a very important resource for human。As an indispensable member of UWB radio system, the study of UWB-wideband antennas therefore become very meaningful。UWB technology has many advantages, which narrow-band systems can not match。Such as:high data rate, low system cost and anti—multipath effects, etc。because the unique advantages of UWB technology, it becomes the one of the most competitive and promising technologies.Ultra-wideband antenna has a wide range of application, it can be used for GPRS,exploration of resources and the environment,satellite communications,radar and so on。In addition to, in recent years, the study of short-distance wireless communication become hot。UWB antenna with its small size and higher data speed, can be used for many wireless devices。for example:USB,digital cameras and so on。Combined with radio frequency technology to replace traditional wired communications.This paper startes around the ultra-wideband antenna。the state of the art of UWB technology and UWB antenna is firstly introduced, and then several analysis methods for antenna have been outlined. Besides, some basic antenna parameters have been reviewed as well as the UWB requirements. After that, we focus on the designs and calculations of several new ultra-wideband antennas and its working principles, then give the simulations results in frequency domain and time domain. Verify the performance in the 3.1GHZ-11GHZ frequency range, meet the application requirements of UWB antenna.
