In the current full computerized Radar/ARPA simulator, the initial data of the coastline, recon and SART in radar echo is obtained from the charts in the digitizer samples, the data then will be stored in a fixed type of document in the providing data structure. If the initial data get from the chart can be correctly showed up in three different displayed ways (relative head up motion, relative north up motion, true north up motion),a series of coordinate conversion are necessary in several coordinate system (Drawing board coordinate system, Screen coordinate system, Cartesian coordinates system and Geographical coordinates system).Currently, the fractal theory is a very active branch in non-linear mathematics area. It is the object of study and nonlinear systems in nature that are not smooth and irregular geometry. The objects(such as mountains, trees, grass, fire, clouds, waves, etc.) of studying by the fractal theory are not smooth and irregular geometry in nature and non-linear systems. Therefore, the fractal theory has also been used in research and analysis of a large number of image texture analysis, natural scene simulation, timing analysis and other related areas. In previous radar/ARPA simulator, radar echo and most of ARPA symbols were generated by the method of connecting the two adjacent sampling points before and after the line graph to approximate the coastline constitute, but this method does not meet the real working mechanism of the radar. For progress in researching Coastal at home and abroad based on fractal, and a false sense produced by marine Radar/ARPA simulator with the range of natural coastline echoes produced as quantum reduction. Based on the fractal theory of in-depth study, against the problem caused by smaller in scale reduction of sampling data for the coastline coastline echoes, which is not the fine structure, this paper used three kinds of fractal algorithm to generate an arbitrary level of the fine structure of radar coastline's echo, and compare the simulation results. Simulation results show that the coastline by simulating is a self-similar, fractal nature. The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The mathematical basis of fractal theory is systematic analyzed and in-depth study.(2)The initial data of coastline from Radar echoes through digitizer obtained from chart. The data is a number of discrete sampling points. In the case of not increasing the number of sampling points, this paper respectively simulated and detailed coastline of the radar echo by three methods (concluding the improved algorithm of Koch curve, and the fractal interpolating algorithm, and the method of subdivision and interpolation by random interpolation points).(3) By analyzing fractal algorithm on three kinds of simulation results, This paper investigate the advantages and weaknesses of using three fractal algorithms, and the affect of the simulation results of the coastline of the radar echo, and an improved method to solve the problem.
