As the Internet usage and penetration, as well as personal computer hardware continues to develop, the flow of information has been rapid development, especially'' the emergence of e-books have accelerated the speed of information dissemination. Now the usual storage capacity of personal computers easily 500G, can store a small, traditional library all the books.However, the traditional library management system is only for structured data retrieval, the extent of their search were unable to penetrate into the knowledge level. This is for us to retrieve books from a number of books we want to create difficulties.Semantic Web is an expansion and extension of the existing Internet, which in a clear, formal way to represent the information resources, to promote knowledge sharing.By the use of Semantic Web technologies to the library management system, will enable users to search faster and more convenient to a variety of e-books on the computer. In addition, we are still added the application of ontology personal information to the library management system based on the Semantic Web technology, which we have retrieved more easily with a high degree of self-related e-books. In addition, in the system build process, we also draw on the semantic directory, making the user's.query results to the way of semantic directory back, increasing the flexibility of the system during use.This paper studies the basic principles of semantic directory, related technologies, analyzed the needs of the personal library management system based on semantic directory, and gives solutions. Practice shows that the personal library management system based on semantic directory not only can solve the query semantic matching problem and improve the query accuracy, but also to meet the needs of the user's personalized, user-friendly to read, and can solve the trouble of the user to organize data.
