With the rapid development of Internet and the multimedia technology, the exchange of multimedia information becomes increasingly popular and the information technology brings large convenience to people's lives, but the security issues that arise from it become more and more serious. As a new direction in the research field of information security, Information hiding technology have an important significance in copyright protection, message authentication, tamper with prompt and confidential communications. It is become a hot research. This paper is mainly researching on data hiding by digital image. This article introduces the basic theory of information hiding technology and summarizes the basic model and classification of information hiding, as well as evaluation criteria and property. It focuses on the basic algorithm of image-based information hiding. Two new information hiding algorithms are proposed based on the profound analysis of existing methods, and the paper gives an analysis combined with the experiment results.Based on a new class of orthogonal system (V system), we define the discrete V transform. Then a novel image data hiding algorithm which is based on second degree V system is proposed. Firstly, the secret image is scrambled with Arnold transform. Then the scrambled image and carrier image are operated by DVT transform separately. Using a fusion function, we hide the secret information in the transform domain. Algorithms based on the transform domain are of good imperceptibility and strong robustness, while the fusion is of large capacity. Experimental results show that this algorithm has their both advantages. At the same time, this algorithm can be implemented conveniently.A novel reversible data hiding scheme which is based on histogram shifting of prediction errors is proposed in this paper. The JPEG-LS prediction method is employed. We apply the peak point of a histogram in a prediction error (PE) image to generate an inverse transformation to create free space for hiding in the proposed scheme. The experimental results for many standard test images show that a higher hiding capacity is obtained while a good invisibility quality is preserved. Compared to the scheme in [37], PSNR is improved about 10dB when the same amounts of secret messages are embedded.
