Since the 3G technology is applied in China, the demand for data services are increasing, the problems of indoor coverage become terrible, and the costs need to be reduced. The concept of Femto-cell is proposed to solve these problems is an effective way. The picoChip multicore DSP platform features low-cost, just coincides with the concept of Femto-cell. So the Femto-cell system development based on picoChip multicore DSP is worth to research and have bright prospect.The content of this paper are designs of important modules for WCDMA Femto-cell receiver. This paper first introduces the research background of the subject, as well as Femto-cell related concepts. After introducing the key technology of WCDMA physical layer processing and some useful concept and syntax of picoChip multicore DSP platform, the paper gives the overall architecture design of Femto-cell receiver system. Based on the overall system architecture and feature of multi-core DSP, design of system API module is discussed. In final part of paper, the design of multipath Tracker module is detailed. The chapter first describes feature and principle of Tracker, and then gives the fixed-point design of tracking processing, and how to use multi-core DSP system to optimize the processing rate. Finally, the chapter gives the Tracker performance, and concludes that is the main factor affecting the tracking performance is AWGN.We finally design the two important modules of Femto-cell receiver, and also describe how to design based on multi-core DSP platform.
