WCDMA is one of the leading technology of the air interface in the third generation mobile communication system, there is no unity synchronization reference clock between the base station. So cell search is one of the key technologies for WCDMA physicality. This paper research WCDMA cell search in-depth, design and implement a terminal chip search method.This paper is deeply research WCDMA cell search, the process is divided into three separate steps, describes the cell search hardware circuit structure, describes the and function, hardware structure in turn. The paper optimize focus on hardware circuit of Galay correlator and average module. Design peak search, peak sort, Hadamard transform, group×slot generate, power appraise, float accumulate and control module according to new algorithm.The innovation points of this method mainly lies in lower power consumption and chip area: Each step searches independently and controlled by DSP separately, that reduces the total control load; Correlation circuit according to the characteristics of synchronous code, that reduces the circuit structure resources; Replaces a DRAM with two SRAM internal module can save area and power.
