Mobile TV compiled mobile phone service with tv content, could link together the mobile customer, the mobile tv operation distributor and the tv programs supplier, achieve win-win cooperation. As the appearing of multimedia terminals such as mobile tv receiver, USB tv dangle, mobile phone, PDA and so on, tv receiving technology ushered in "Mobile Time". Compared with the fixed tv, this number of mobile terminal will be larger. At the same time, the mobile broadcasting standard's release with completely independent intelligent property, suited the current circumstances, it extended mobile multimedia broadcasting industry standard by means of patented technology, established product and service with public appeal in worldwide market, this if of strategic importance for our country's related industrials. This paper researched and designed mobile digital tv system based on ARM9.On the basis of investigation about the domestic and overseas present status of mobile digital tv and embedded system, firstly designed the hardware system, selected the processor chip, digital tv demodulater chip and related peripheral circles, built an embedded hardware platform with S3C2440 as core. Sencondly, transplanted the Linux kernel, developed drivers and application programs of touch screen. Using TP3001 series tv demodulater chip of TelePath company, consulted the DataSheet, write SPI bus driver according to the commanded protocol. By ways of SPI bus, digital signal were send to upper application, after multimedia decode, broadcast on screen. Thirdly, used QT as the tool to develop graphical user interface.This system is new application in embedded field of mobile digital tv, giving full play to advantages of embedded system.
