Design And Implementation Of The Communication System In The Workflow Engine

The workflow technique is a newly arisen research field, it make the business processing processed automatically by computer, it can shorten the time of the crucial business process, improve the response ability for enterprise to the market, bring a large profit to the enterprise. Along with the quick development of computer and networks, the modern industry resources process characteristics of distributed, heterogeneous and cooperative. Both the remote access of various business systems and the communication adaptation are going to be the bottleneck in Workflow Management System. Forever, the workflow technology steps into the distributes processing stage. However, the distributed model of workflow which simply uses component technique can hardly across through the firewall and connects with each other between heteromorphic systems. As known, some distributed technique based on component must comply strictly data structure can not implement operation between different operating systems, Web Services can overcome these limitation, furthermore, Web Services make integration and collaboration easier between heteromorphic client application and workflow management system. Considering the comprehensive application of CORBA and DCOM standard, the paper designed a communication system.The combination of communication system and the workflow engine, supplied uniform,extensible services. It can also work well with kinds of distributed workflow management system, parse and response many communication protocol. By importing the communication system to the workflow management system, it realized the seamless connection among different business systems, make up for the shortage of traditional workflow management in the multi-platform fields.In accordance with the requirement of business interfaces, the paper proposes architecture of heterogeneous WfMS. A communication system is designed, which can accomplish the conversion among protocols. Finally, the system is applied to the safety production supervise platform and it keeps the key business distributed and uniform. The test gives a well-behaved result for the application.
