Research On Web Services Feature Interaction Detection Method

Feature Interaction originates from the area of telecommunication. In order to satisfy the wants of consumers, the system of telecommunication continually develops and deploys new proliferous services. And the same time, unexpected interactions occur among these proliferous services, because of the conflicts of wants, competition of resources and inadequate infrastructure. These unexpected interactions always induce that the wants of consumers cannot be satisfied, even disposed by error. It is the problem of Feature Interaction. Feature Interaction has become the mainly barrier of the telecommunication system when they want to add new services and develop the services quality. Web Services represent one new system style which faces to the services to satisfy the Internet. Because this style has some similarity with telecommunication system, with the web develops fast, the Feature Interaction of web services composition will become more and more evidently. with the consumer's wants increases constantly, new web services are added to web constantly, and makes the amount increases in fast speed. Meanwhile, under pressure of competition, thousands of service providers continually develop new services and only pay attention to the services they provide. So web services are developed in parallel, independent and increasing mode. Because of the services assume conflicts, designed improperly, carried out improperly and tested insufficiently, the problem of Feature Interaction happens easily in web services composition. Feature Interaction will influence the normal service action. And it may lead to the services reduce in grade, function lose system breakdown and other worse consequence. It may influence consumer's belief in the service's quality. As the amount of services increases, the problem of Feature Interaction has become the mainly barrier of how to sufficiently develop and exploit new services. Feature Interaction in web services may be more complex than the area of telecommunication. Therefore we must study the detected technology of Feature Interaction in web services. For the one hand, different from the centralized control of telecommunication system, web services have distributivity and openness. The inner logic of web services cannot be achieved because different web service has different developer. For the other hand, Web services Feature Interaction always represents the conflicts of services side effect which always happens in the process of services executing. So we must study dynamic detection method to detect the Feature Interaction in dynamic web services composition. By studying the inner mechanism of Web Services Feature Interaction,we come up with an online detection method which uses the idea of situation calculus to detect Feature Interaction happening in the dynamic web services composition.
