| This paper focuses on the solution in glass industry, which based on the digital image processing of automatic production line, which applied to install the mirror boss to simplify the way and improve the precision of the location of the glass. In this solution, Image Processing, PLC and industry robot, are integrated to shorten the cycle time. improve the quality of the glass and enhance produce efficiency.The digital image which is captured by the digital camera is processed by Delphi 7.0 for Windows operation system. To make the image processing performance best, camera must be calibrated to compensate the optical distortion before the recognition algorithm running. And then the software filter process is used to get the image with its own clear characteristic. which is analyzed by the program to obtain the position of the glass. The system compare the template which is stored in the computer with the captured image just now and output the difference value of X Y and R(rotation based on the XY)to the PLC through the Ethernet by the OPC communication protocol. After the PLC get the information. the PLC will order the industry robot to offset these three differences and located the glass very precisely to stick the mirror boss on the glass. The whole system use Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC with Ethernet and DeviceNet industry network.For the image having some noise when it is captured, this system contains some filter algorithm to diminish the difference when the system is running. Simultaneously the industry robot is implemented to make the difference offset more preciously than the normal way. |
