SMS interoperability gateway system, as an integral part of the SMS platform, belongs to the value-added services of the mobile communication business. The system is mainly contributed to SMS business functions to achieve interoperability between different operators. As a result, different mobile users attributed to different operators can send text messages between each others.The rapid development of the SMS makes the SMS become the second largest main business within the mobile communication industry. The operators of the SMS business development has become increasingly diverse, particularly in the SMS messaging interoperability as a key part of the business development between different operators. With the creation of SMS interoperability gateway system, a bridge between the exchange function of text messages was established among the different mobile operators. It demands from the Chinese three major mobile phone operator SMS service platform, which are China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. The three operators implements the first turn through SMS interworking SMS gateway system. Well then this is the context of the dissertation.This topic details in the project background, concepts and business processes of the SMS inter-working gateway. Resulted in repeated demand survey and analysis, the project's design requirements was finally established. As a result, it forms the preliminary design and stage design, the final completion of the system integrated design. According to the system design requirements of the system performance, a rigorous test was performed on business functions as well as system functions. Based on the summary of the testing process problems, the following upgration are respectively solved and improved. Further description of the system-building demands, system design and system testing process comes up in the context based on the example case of Beijing Telecom interoperability gateway system. At present, the message inter-working gateway system are widely used in the all mobile operators SMS platform. Based on the realization of interoperability gateway system contributed by the SMS interoperability capabilities, other auxiliary functions is developed by the local operators, it enriches SMS inter-working gateway function of the system, and the SMS inter-working gateway system will be a better growth prospects.
