As the evolution and convergence of the network, the traditional messaging services have been gradually unable to meet the requirements of future networks and users. The convergence of messaging services has shown a consequent trend. The various existing messaging services (such as SMS, MMS, IM, MEM, PoC) have many overlaped service capabilities, they were all designed and standardized independently. As a result, these isolated messaging services can only provide one kind of user exprience at a time, and confined to limited media types. In order to solve these problems, OMA has proposed the concept of Converged IP Messaging (CPM), which can provide a unified service platform to merge the capabilities of existing messaging services to offer a converged SIP-based communication capability. The target of CPM is to eliminate。the technical barriers between these isolated traditional messaing services which caused by different implementation technologies, in order to adapt to the development demand of network convergence, to enhance the users'experience, and also to reduce the service deployment and management costs.The main features of CPM include conversation control, network-based conversation-history storage, interworking with traditional messaging services, supporting multimedia, multi-device, group communication, the third party application, presence and converged address book, etc. Among all the features of CPM service, the network-based conversation-history storage function is the one of the most important service capabilities, which can provide both manual-mode and automatic-mode to construct corresponding history recording object to log the whole interactive process of the dynamic conversation-based communication procedure, and append these static history records to the network storage server. This function can meet the user's demand of reproduce the interaction communication process in order to provide a better service experience.The author of this thesis made comprehensive research to the conversation history storage system and proposed a conversation-history storage model which can adapt to the special structural features of CPM conversation-history and special accessing demands. The author also designed the accessing control operations for the storage client to access and manage the conversation-history which is stored in the stoage server, and defined a unified storage format and generating logic for the conversation-history. Then, the author designed and implemented a prototype storage system to validate the rationality and correctness of the proposed shemes and subsystems, focus on the design and implementation of conversastion history recording function in CPM Conversation Server.This thesis firstly introduces the architecture of the CPM service system, and then describes the architecture and functional entities of CPM conversation-history storage subsystem. Secondly, based on the deeply research and analyse the storage system and the present researching situation, designs the conversation-history storage model structure and related technical schemes, the details of the system design are given, and the key technologies are also introduced. Finally, the testing of the system and the summary of this thesis are given.
