RFID is the acronym for Radio Frequency Identification, or RFID, also known as Electronic Tag, is a non-contact automatic identification technology. It is through radio signals to identify a specific target, read and write the corresponding data, without mechanical or optical contact with the identification system. It needs not human intervention, can be used for a variety of harsh environments; identified high-speed moving objects; multiple tags identification, while the operation quickly and conveniently. With these specific advantage, RFID technology is used for second-generation ID card, Olympic tickets, so as freeway electronic toll collection systems. At the rise of Internet of Things, as one of the four pillar industries, radio frequency identification technology group will play a much more important role in the future.Base on RFID system of the application background, this paper study on the simulation and measurement on helical antenna, which is suitable for radio frequency identification technology, besides, we built a working hardware platform for active RFID, with the the actual production of a axial mode helical antenna applied to real work environment, the measurement results satisfied the design destination. In this article, radio frequency identification system research and development, working mechanism and classification are briefly introduced. Then introduced the theoretical basis of the antenna design and performance parameters: including the circuit parameters and radiation pattern. Then describes the basic working principle of the helical antenna and classification, basing on which the simulated a working model of the axial mode helical antenna and made research on the change in geometry of the impact on the performance of the antenna to optimized antenna geometry size. The final chapter first outlined the basic antenna measurement concepts and methods, then use the simulation design result we actually produced an axial mode helical antenna, the actual measurements show that the antenna measurement results meet the design requirements. Then choossed suitable hardware components to form a radio frequency identification technology application platform, using the actual production of the antenna for measurement, the results show that the production of the antenna consistent with the simulation.
