Book pricing policy is a macroeconomic policy used to guide pulishing company setting price to books. Where it is resonable or not fundamentally restrict the groath of publishing industry. Since the fundation of China,our country has gone through the book pricing policy of a gradual process of development:from the beginning of unified pricing policy, to the middle of unified pricing policy of limitation, last to the current pricing policy of freedom, the three book pricing policies witness tracks of our country's publishing industry development.Therefore, the pricing policy in the entire industry process of development, what role it really plays? Both market prosperity and development problems in book industry, do they really have any relationship with the effect of book pricing policy? A nd the current pricing policy is the best choice?As regard to these considerations, I do some researches and analyses. By studying impact factors of pricing policy, this essay makes analyses on principles and condition of implementing pricing policy. And then a concrete analyses of the above mentioned three kinds of pricing policies are made, induding the background knowledge, fundation, principles and conditions, as well as their respective carryover effect. Through studies, I have got the view that pricing policy of each stage in their particular industry do have promoted the healthy development of book industry, but also brought some problems, such as, after the implementation of free pricing policy, the book industry is aggravated by such phenomenon as disorderly competition, rampant piracy books......Which to some extent, restricted the book industry.After a deeper research, I put forward the idea that some improvement and innovation should be done on pricing policy. Based on making specific categories of books, I have the idea of dividing current single free pricing policy into three kinds:vnified pricing policy for public service, limited pricing policy for free using and free pricing policy for market competition. And by analysing the content of each pricing policy, the essay is designed to form a resonable basis for pricing policies, aiming to promote China's pricing policy to be more scientific, normative and rationative, so as to keep our book publishing industry going forward along a sound, stable and sustained developed way.
