With the rapid development of informatization, it will be incalculable mischance if the vital data is damaged. Therefore, how to use the network storage technique to protect data effectively has become one of the hottest issues, and the development of peer-to-peer technique provides a new idea and direction to the network storage and protection of data. However, the peer-to-peer network technique has brought opportunities as well as challenges. How to use the characteristic of P2P network, such as high network utilization, strong scalability and good fault tolerance, to protect the validity of the data will be of great significance.For adapting to the require of the data backup in the peer-to-peer network technique, the paper presents a new network storage model based on group Chord protocol, and also designed a replication manage mechanism base on this model.The fundamental of this model is group which is subnet actually, and there is a super node in the group as a centralized manage server. The chord protocol is used in the group to exchange the message between super nodes and backbone network; this model takes advantage of the high location efficiency of DHT, and reduces the influence caused by the high dynamic environment at the same time. At last, the network ensures the backup offsite.Replication manage mechanism fully account the different abilities of the peers in the system, and it adjusts the redundancy of the backup data with the abilities of system, under the condition that backup data availability meets the expectation. In the replication placement strategy, we place the replication on the continuous subnet group of the Chord along the logic ring, which greatly simplifies the placement and locates the replication and improves the system efficiency. In the replication maintenance, we combine heartbeat protocol and detecting protocol to control the state of the system, and it will keep the replication availability rate and consistency.At last, the paper simulates the replication manage mechanism base on the OverSim, and compares to the replication strategy by the direct continuous walking. The comparative experiments show that it is more effective for the availability and consistency of replication in P2P environment.
