Design And Implementation Of High Performance Serial Port For 32-bit DSP

DSP is used in a wide variety of application in our society ,because the price of DSP is low and the more people begin to use it now. YHFT-DSPx is a high performance 32-bit DSP self-designed by our school, which can run at 300MHz. The high performance serial port is an important interface of DSP which communicates with other serial equipments outside. It becomes the necessary peripherial equipment on new DSP chips.With 0.13μm CMOS technology and ASIC design method, I have designed and realized the serial port unit on the YHFT-DSPx.Give a thorough simulation and analysis and complete systhesis and timing simulation. The main content and production of this paper are showed as follows.1. To meet the demand of function of the serial port,show the general structure and comlete the design in dial.2. Built the system verification platform and verify the function in entire chip circumstance.The result shows that the function of the port is correct and the high coverage metrics performs the thorough analysis of verification completeness.3. The high performance serial port has FIFO buffer mechanism,resolves the difficulty of signal synchronization and the clock switch,implements multi-function integrated in one body,and is a powerfull serial port at function.4. Logic synthesis for the design.Give a full optimization from EDA to code level.The result achieves satisfied arms for YHFT-DSPx.After Place and Route phase, cooperate with back-end teachers to debug the switching timing of the port.Achieve the goals also.5. YHFT-DSPx processor has been taped out successfully.Afer being tested, the serial port works well and the transmission rate can be up to 100 Mbps. It can completely satisfy the high performance request of design.
