An Empirical Study Of The Mechanism Of Export Influencing Economic Growth

In the past fifties years, great achievements made in nation's foreign trade and economic growth have attracted the world attention. Especially since the reform and opening to the outside policy was adopted in 1978, China's economy has been developing rapidly with the fast growth of its foreign trade. While, how is the relation of our country's export and economic growth, especially, besides while forming a part of national economy directly, does export trade have a indirect impact on national economy through all kinds of ways ? Some scholars have carried on research to this problem. Most results studied have supported this judgement.This paper utilizes the existing statistics on the basis of absorbing the research results in the past, carry on an empirical study of the mechanism of export influencing economic growth of our country. The paper has four chapters:Chapter 1 makes an introduction and comment to various kinds of theory and document of the relationship of trade and economic growth according to their development order and development characteristic from the viewpoint of western economics. The representative theories and methodologies will provide foundation for the study in the following two chapters.Chapter 2 utilizes co-integrated test and Granger causality test who examine the relationship of trade and economic growth at aspect of macroscopic of econometrics.Chapter 3 which is the core part of the paper mainly researches various kinds of the mechanism of export influencing economic growth. This chapter has listed various kinds of main channels and influence mechanisms that trade influences one country's economic growth indirectly. When analyze to each kind of mechanism, I examine two respects to study from the theoretical foundation and empirical test. The theoretical foundation mainly uses some existing economic theories to prove theoretically the possibility of trade influencing one country's economy through this kind of mechanism. Based on existing statistics of China and the modern method of econometrics, empirical test examines this kind of possibility. Through the combination of two parts, on one hand, it can examine the suitability of various kinds of theories in China, On the other hand, it also can prove the degree of trade influencing economic growth of our country through various kinds of mechanisms. Inthe empirical test of some important influence mechanisms, I try hard to use many kinds of methods to examine the same kind of mechanism, thus investigate to this mechanism from different angle and respect. Statistics and econometrics method that this chapter uses have factor analysis mainly, linear regression, Granger causality test, Co-integrated and Error correct model etc...Chapter 4 of this paper summarizes briefly to the full paper.
