At the background of China entering into WTO and with the all-around coming of knowledge economy times, the synthesized competitiveness of a country will be ultimately showed at two aspects: one is the capability of modem science and technology, the other is that of modern finance. The competition capability of a country is decided by its innovative capability in the field of the hi-technology, and it also based on the commercializing achievements in scientific research and the transformation of achievements in scientific research from potential productive forces to realistic productive forces. Venture capital is the all-important capital resource in the transformation process, and it is also important to foster the high-quality and high-tech enterprises. At the same time, with the development of economic globalization and the trend of comprehensive run for international finance, national insurance industry is also provided opportunity and challenge. Considering Chinese status to study actively to make up a set of development strategy and tactics for our national insurance industry has very practical significance. It is also important to integrate insurance and risk investment to synergize its developing, to progress the innovation level in our national science and technology industry and the international competition capability of insurance industry, and to boost up the general strength of national economy.Starting with the analysis of the realistic status and the developing problems of risk investment and insurance in our country, from the point of view of achieving the nation renaissance, building the harmonious society and facilitating the stabilization of finance and economy, this paper clarifies the important significance of healthgrowth of risk investment and insurance. Under the surrounding of the theories of resources allocation, risk management and institutional innovation, this discourse deeply discusses the academic significance of the cooperative progress between insurance and risk investment. It is considered that the interactive development between risk investment and insurance being of advantage to optimizing resources allocation, improving efficiency of the use of resource, and increasing social welfare. Venture capital could make the best of human resource advantage, financing advantage and mature risk management technology of insurance, in order to enhance itself strength to accelerate the transformation of achievements in scientific research from potential productive forces to realistic productive forces and intensify our international competitive power. Through cooperating with risk investment, insurance could have more investing channels and improve the efficiency of its investment business. Further more, it is according with the international trend of finance mixed operation, and it would help to enhance our finance international competitive power.This thesis is composed of five parts. The first part is preamble, the second part puts attention to the developing status of insurance and risk investment, the third part analyses the academic base of the cooperation and, in the forth part, the paper puts emphasis on the road choices that can be used by insurance to enter the venture capital. It is considered that there are two facets to insurance to exert an influence that is to be the major player and the agency of risk investment. For instance, insurance could simply be institution investor to give venture capital, or it could directly participate in the operation of risk investment institution, or it could provide insurance service about risk investment. And in this part, the paper analyses the risks of former cooperation modes and gives some suggestions about risk management. In the last part of whole thesis, it discusses the relationship of interactive developing risk investment and insurance and building the harmonious society.
