In the background of financial globalization, it is the destination of the theorists and the governments of Guangdong and HongKong to promote the overall economic cooperation between the two parties each other. Focusing on the topic of the collision between history and reality, this paper carries out in-depth systematic research on the fundamental condition for financial cooperation between Guangdong and HongKong based on the research achievements of the relationship between Guangdong and HongKong economies in recent years combined the author's practical working experiences in the two areas.This paper first discusses the core of regional financial integration by using The Theory of Optimum Currency Area, Currency Substitution, then analyzes the conditions of the financial integration, as well the status of the financial cooperation between these two areas in the process of integration. In succession, this paper analyzes the fundamental conditions of the financial cooperation from different aspects, such as market, technology, relations with geography, relation with people, and so on. With the progress of CEPA and 9+2 regional economies integration, the financial cooperation between Guangdong and HongKong will be wider and the integration degree will be higher, it will be of more use in the vision of economic integration between HongKong and mainland.Under the structure of the theory of "One Country, Two Systems", the more in-depth financial cooperation needs to eliminate all kinds of confliction, needs the governments to improve the further coordination for the market systems, financial governance, related laws and regulations.
