The research purpose of this article is to find a viable developing way for Chinese retail chain industry. This article analyses and forecast its trend on the basis of summarizing foreign successful experiences and domestic status quo, proposes countermeasures after deeply realizing its shortcomings and the gap between Chinese retail chain industry and foreign retail chain industry. This article obeys social democracy market economy theory, uses macro-economics and microeconomics principle, adopts methods of comparative analysis, qualitative and quantitative combination analysis and mathematics model combined with data validation.Chain industry has been holding dominant position in retail management. It is the main form in the developed countries circulating field. In China, chain industry has shown its intensive and lasting charm, aroused attention from all circles since it was brought in a few years ago. Thus, the research of chain industry is good for its development and it does make sense, especially when China faced with global fierce competition after entry the WTO.First of all, it analyses foreign retail chain industry development and respectively summarizes Wal-Mart Carrefour and Metro's success experiences. Second, analyses Chinese retail chain industry status quo especially the influence by entry the WTO and forecasts its trend. At last, it puts forward the countermeasures: implementing regularization strategy, private brand strategy, modern administration strategy and international management strategy.
