The Analysis Of The Investing Location And Industries Of Direct Investment From Taiwan, Hong Kong And Macau To Chinese Mainland

Since 1978 Chinese mainland has implemented the reforming and opening up, whichprovided a brand-new environment for the development of the relationship among both sidesof the Taiwan strait and Hong Kong and Macau in the fields of economy. With over 20 yearsdeveloping, the four parts of China have become closely connected. Taiwan, Hong Kong,Macau all adopted market system earlier than the mainland, and their economy are moredeveloped. So the investment from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau to Chinese mainlandbrings impulse to the development of mainland, and it also has a significant impact on theindustry-structure of mainland.In this paper, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are regarded as a whole when we workingon the characteristic of their investing location and industries in Chinese mainland. Aside ofthe preface and abstract, there are four parts of the paper as follows:In the first chapter, the author started by introducing the basic theory of Foreign DirectInvestment (FDI) as a foundation for the following analysis, and divided the FDI theories tothe Marxism FDI theories and the western FDI theories. The former consists of Marx's FDItheory, Lenin's FDI theory and Xiaoping Den's FDI theory while the western FDI theoryconcludes Monopolistic Advantage Theory, Life Cycle Theory, The Theory of Internalization,The Theory of Comparative Advantage, and The Eclectic Theory of International Production.The second chapter centers on the history and present situation of the investment formTaiwan, Hong Kong and Macau to mainland. The present characteristics of direct investmentfrom Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau are analyzed. And the impacts to the macro-economy ofmainland are discussed theoretically and practically.Chapter 3 focuses on the study on issues about investing location. The author introducedthe Gravity Equation to analyze the factors that influence the location-choice of Taiwan, HongKong and Macau direct investment.The last chapter is about the investing structure of investment from Taiwan, Hong Kongand Macau. The causes and pattern of the development of investing structure are discussed.The impact of the development of investing structure is analyzed. There are some advisesgiven by the author for optimizing the investing structure of mainland.
