Study On Corporate Governance Of Insurance Companies In China

With the rapid development of Chinese insurance industry after the opening reform, thedeep-seated problems and structural conflicts are emerging. In the background of 3 biggestinsurance companies of China listing on the oversea capital market, as well as the gradualopening of Chinese insurance market and the tremendous inrush of the foreign insurancecompanies due to WTO agreement, further enhancing the corporate governance andpromoting the core competitiveness of Chinese-fund insurance companies is becoming one ofthe most important tasks.This dissertation bases on general theories of corporate governance, links with thecharacteristics of insurance industry and the new trends on international supervision oncorporate governance of insurance company, compares the commonness and differences incorporate governance structure, corporate governance mechanisms, external governanceenvironment and equity structure effects between American company and German company,then analyzes the actual state of corporate governance in Chinese state-owned andjoint-stocked insurance companies, finally, draws the conclusion on constructing an idealcorporate governance model for Chinese insurance company and give the detailed suggestionson policy level. This dissertation is aim to benefit the corporate governance reform of Chineseinsurance company.
