As energy resources and raw materials, oil and natural gas that are known as"black blood"play a decisive role in modern industry. With the continuing rapid growth of China's economy, oil and natural gas represent their increasing importance to the advancement of our national economy. Due to its basic status, the oil and natural gas industry has a strong correlation effect on downstream ones, such as petrochemical industry, chemical raw materials products, transportation equipment manufacturing as well as transport sectors, and even the entire national economy. Therefore, the author believes it necessary to analyze the business cycle of oil and natural gas industry so as to coordinate the developing levels of every trade and ensure the steady growth of national economy.There are four chapters in this thesis. Aiming at the characteristics and function to interrelated trades, the thesis studies the business cycle of oil and natural gas industry from three perspectives: supply, demand and psychology; and compounds coincident index, demand index along with mental index. Associated with other important indexes related to this industry, the thesis explains the current development state and forecasts the future trends in order to provide reference to setting down reasonable policy.Chapter one analyzes the current development state of oil and natural gas industry in China and its important influence on national economy.
