In the process of establishing socialist market economic system in our country, government intervention is not a simple option, but the objective economic law demands. Seeing from the current situation of china's market-oriented reform, it is a type of government-leading market oriented reform. So the effective government intervention will promote china's economic development, political and social stability. Our country should take advantages from the theories and practices on developing market economy in the western countries, but china's unique conditions, coupled with a short course of market economy, economic structure and administrative system is not perfect, the reform is also related to the practice of exploration, thus researching on government intervention will have a certain theoretical and practical significance.This article is dedicated to writing from the perspective of administrative, economics and management science, using a combination of historical and logical approach, mainly researching on government intervention from normative sense, focusing on the concept and idea level, rather than the technical level. Firstly, this article analyzes government intervention of western countries; secondly, this article clarifies the appropriate government intervention from three aspects, namely, the scope, intensity and tools of government intervention; Finally, this article mainly focuses on china's government intervention, concerning its principles, scope and problems, then forwarding some comments on it.
