In recent years, Three-dimensional GIS technology has a new developmentopportunities and challenges with the advent of rapid development of the geographicinformation industry and government attach great importance to the strategicsignificance of the three-dimensional GIS technology, The emergence of advancedtechnology such as Parallel computing and Cloud computing at same time. It isdifficult to ensure a stable and high frame rate interactive experience thatcompute-intensive and time-consuming for the massive3D GIS data. Efficient,high-performance3D visualization technology has been a hotspot of academicresearch at home and abroad.Based on the above background, In-depth analysis of the data organization methodof3D city models and multiple levels of detail model, using OpenMP paralleldevelopment technology and designing a multi-core3D GIS parallel rendering modelbased on multi-core computing and programming. The model used the parallelcharacteristics of3D GIS data and made full use of the computer multi-corecomputing resources to parallel rendering for3D GIS not related data and derive outseveral synchronous thread and used OSG rendering engine to visualization. And itcombined with the three dimensional city scene instance to validate the calculationsspeedup came from multi-core parallel rendering. The main findings in this paper are:1)Rule-based3D city modeling idea, Which solve the problem of the traditional3D city modeling method of labor-intensive, low efficiency, long life cycle.2) Simplification Algorithm Parallel Optimization, Which improve the drawingefficiency according to the actual need to invoke the different level of detail model.3) Using OpenMP parallel development technology and designing a multi-core3DGIS parallel rendering model based on multi-core computing and programming.Design data partitioning and scheduling strategy of parallel computing,andaccelerating effect of the method is verified by experiment.
