With the extensive application of GPS measurements, in order to obtain high-precisionpoint flat position, while also obtaining high-precision elevation, determined centimeter geoidis necessary. It is also a measure of today’s earth science research hotspot. Not only does itplay on the basis of mapping the strengths, but also for the regional subsidence monitoring,multi-disciplinary application of marine science, earth science research as well astransportation, water and other services to provide the necessary mapping. On the basis ofhigh-precision, high-resolution geoid model, using of GPS to determine the normal highdirectly. It can improve operational efficiency and bring direct economic to a great extent.This paper first introduces the development of research geoid background and abroadgeoid research, systematic exposition of the principles of refined regional geoid and variousmethods to conventional GPS standard geometrical fitting divided into functional model,statistical model and integrated model. The paper introduces the principle of its refined andanalyzes the geoid of error sources, and finally analyzes and compares by calculationexamples and their features and scope.In order to achieve high-precision high-resolution regional geoid refinement, this paperfocuses on the ellipsoid model based on region, combined with GPS data refinement regionallevel like the theories and methods of the geoid. Regional ellipsoid method is the cause ofabnormal height resulting from analysis, to achieve a true sense of precision fitting using GPStechnology to build and test area established geoid regional best fit ellipsoid. The use ofregional ellipsoid fitting makes the region the earth ellipsoid height and the bestapproximation of normal height, eliminating the ellipsoid surface with respect to theprojection plane tilt anomalies and improve the fitting accuracy. The use of rigid characteristicellipsoid can effectively epitaxy, but also greatly expand the availability and scope of thecurrent GPS elevation data has broad application prospects. Finally, the standard combinationof GPS data Ningtiaota mine, for mine-specific terrain features to determine the scope of themine geoid model uses regional ellipsoid method, and several comparative analysis with othermethods, considers fit the results achieved better results.
