With the continuous development of terahertz technology, the terahertz target scattering characteristics is studied more and more deeply. The measurement of target scattering characteristics is an important technology, especially for target detection and recognition. In the Terahertz scattering characteristics measurement system, the introduction of the off-axis parabolic mirrors can not only collimate and expand the beam, but also can effectively reduce the loss of light energy. The degrees of off-axis parabolic mirrors make optical path easier to set up, and its effective alignments can effectively reduce the space of the terahertz scattering characteristics measurement system. However, the off-axis parabolic mirrors are very sensitive to the optical axis misalignment. Therefore, the influences of off-axis parabolic mirrors on the terahertz scattering characteristics measurement system are analyzed in this paper.First of all, a terahertz scattering characteristics measurement system based on90degree of off-axis parabolic mirrors is put forward. The alignment errors of off-axis parabolic mirrors of the collimation system and the collection system are analyzed. The effects of the waist and divergence angle of the exited laser are studied and the defocus amounts of the detector are analyzed.In order to reduce the space occupied by the scattering system, and to make it portable to install, a compact scattering characteristics measurement system is proposed, based on the RCS measurement carried out by a research group from Denmark, combined with SIFIR-50laser and P4-42detector. The optical performance of the collimation system is analyzed. The alignment error of the off-axis parabolic mirrors and defocus amounts of the detector are investigated. Compared with the90-degree off-axis parabolic mirror system, similarities and differences between them are obtained.At last, based on the commercial sample programs, and combined with the specific applications of terahertz characteristics scattering measurement system, software control interface of Terahertz scattering characteristics measurement system is developed, including the motion and control of the rotation, and data collection and storage of the data acquisition card. Finally the test results of analog signals are obtained.
