Abstract/Summary:
As extension and development of the classical queuing theory, vacation queuingtheory is widely used to solve the questions about the optimal design and control ofcomplex systems. The results of vacation queuing theory have widely application incomputer communication networks, flexible manufacturing systems and some kinds ofhigh-tech fields. In queuing system customer may lose impatience for waiting and leavethe system, the queuing system with impatient customers is very common not only in thedaily life but also in the sales of the perishable goods, high-speed network packettransmission, computer technology, wireless communication system, public services, andother fields. So, the queuing system with impatient customers has important theoreticalsignificance and applicable value. This thesis studies the steady state performance and cost optimization of M/G/1queue systems with impatient customers. The research of this thesis is briefly introduced asfollow:Firstly, in queue system with impatient customers of M/G/1,the paper considers thewaiter according to K-vacation policy. By using the results of the M/G/queuing system, analysis about the main performance measures of the system and the analytic expressionof the main performance indicators are obtained.Secondly, as the special case of K-general strategy, the performance indicators of theM/G/1queue system under the single vacation and multiple vacation policy are calculated.By using the method of numerical analysis, the systems under three different vacationpolicies system are analyzed and compared, and the effect on the main performanceindicators of the change of parameters is analyzed. Finally, the indicators of the fixed length of impatient time and vacation strategy aregiven. On the basis of the indicators, two cost models are established. The optimalanalysis about the fixed length of impatient time and vacation policy is obtained.
