Comprehensive Evaluation And Research Of The Family Car Scheme Based On AHP Method

Professor T.L.Saaty from the University of Pittsburgh,who is renowned for Operation Research, proposed the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP for short) in the1970s for the first time. Combining this method and the use of quantitative analysis, decision makers make scientific, rational and qualitative judgment in decision making. The most typical features of AHP are simplicity and practicality. With the progress of the times, people use this method to evaluate scientific research, urban planning, and so on.Along with the continuously growing socio-economic and people’s increasing standards of living, cars have become essential transportation tools to each and every family.However, many people have problems in choosing a family car.Starting from the definition of a family car, in this article,we give a brief introduction on current situation of the family car market both in China and abroad, and the related factors that affect the family car choice.Meanwhile we explore the principles and steps using the AHP systematically, and using AHP establish related models based on four factors which affects family car choice:car price, dynamic force, fuel consumption, and safety.According to actual situation, we make validation analysis to AHP model established to see whether it is reasonable. At last, we apply AHP to quantify experience of consumers and problems ordinary families facing in purchasing a family car in the face of a huge car market, and make a reasonable assessment.
