Sand trap is one of important instrument which studies sand movement law andobserves sand flow structure. In this study, combining Sensit wind eroding masssensor,10m meteorological tower, visibility meter, the field observation test wascarried out for Fully Automated High-precision Dust Collector(ATR1C). Using thelinear relationship between the mass of sand measured by the dust collector and thesediment particle number measured by Sensit wind erosion sensor, and the calculatedquality of a grain of sand determine the field performance of the dust collector;Combining Sensit wind eroding sensor,10m meteorological tower, visibility meter,the field application situation of the dust collector is analyzed, providing technicalbasis for the popularization and application. Meanwhile, according to the previousresearch conclusions of sand-dust horizontal flux and Saltation sediment transport rate,combined with the test data, the sand-dust horizontal flux and Saltation sedimenttransport rate of the dust weather process are analyzed, and the main conclusions areas follows:The performance of the dust collector:(1) The verification analysis shows that: The best relationship between the saltationparticle numbers and the sand collection quantity as a linear relationship, the meanof R is0.7702; the calculated quality of a grain of sand is1.3440×10-2mg,Conforming to the principle of the test; The average sampling efficiency on5cmheight is118.1%, showing that the field performance of the dust collector is good.(2) The rotational frequency of skip bucket:1.3041times/min (sand and dust storm),0.7169times/min (blowing sand I),0.2794times/min (blowing sand II); TheAverage quality of each reversal:3.7160g (sand and dust storm),4.0275g(blowing sand I),5.0035g (blowing sand I); The sand quality are intereventdistribution.The sand-dust horizontal flux and Saltation sediment transport rate: (3) Based on the predecessors’ research results of sand-dust horizontal flux, combingwith the field observation test, deducing the formula of sand-dust horizontal flux:Q=256m, and which is used to calculate the sand-dust horizontal flux of the sixtimes dust weather process, the maximum value is190.3351Kg, the minimum is6.8129Kg.(4) The surface temperature helps to the saltation of sand; The best relationshipbetween wind speed and Saltation sediment transport rate as power function.
