In order to better meetkarez turpan oasis ecological landscape, it would need to be on the research of manysided, more fully recognize the value of the karez. In this paper, Karez in Turpan asthe research object, with the ecology, water conservancy, culture, geography and otherdisciplines of knowledge as the theoretical basis, using literature method,investigation method, interview method, experimental method, on the Turpan basinecological environment condition, present situation, characteristics, unique value,attenuation of the reasons as well as the the local agricultural production, ecologicalenvironment were studied, and the reasonable measures to protect the Karez isproposed. This paper mainly includes: analysis of the characteristics of waterresources and water quality in the Turpan oasis, formation, Karez advantages anddisadvantages, relations with Turpan in the oasis ecological environment,development and change of Karez and attenuation causes, contents in value andprotection measures. Among them, Karez, in case of using the present situation anddevelopment trend of the research is a foundation, the research about the relationbetween karez and turpan oasis ecological environment is the core, to research intothe causes of karez attenuation is karez further discusses the development trend of it.The main conclusion as following:1, this paper carried on the overall investigation of Turpan area environment,analysis of the causes of formation of the Karez, formed the Turpan Karez is mainlyaffected by natural environment (climate, geology and geomorphology, hydrology geology), production development, economic level and other factors.2, taking Turpan city as an example, the Turpan water resources for water qualityanalysis, test results show that the content of various substances Kaner well water inall the drinking water standard. With salinization degrees Kaner well water irrigatedsoils were mild salinization, soil organic matter content is higher; Kaner well waterfor irrigation water.3, through data analysis, it is concluded that the number of karez turpan region,traffic, irrigation area is a trend of attenuation and on the basis of the on-the-spotinvestigation of karez turpan attenuation reason mainly is:(1) unified planning andmanagement of groundwater resources (2) improper development and utilization ofwater resources, the underground water supply reduce the excessive exploitation ofgroundwater,(3) the underground water level drop (4) the karez management attachesgreat importance to the defects of less than5. Karez itself.4, using the collected literature, from the karez agriculture’s role in social life aswell as the karez history and culture, the ecological environment, tourism value toevaluate the value of karez, it is concluded that the importance of protecting our karezand protection measures are put forward.
