Shortage of seismic datas in the Es4Member of the western Damintun Depression beltslope, has restricted the cognition about its macroscopic reservoir characteristic, resourcepotential as well as the exporation direction in future, and delayed the full development in thisarea. Based on the theories and methods of the sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural geology and petroleum geology, as well as the analytical datas of seismic, welllogging and cores, the analysis for three-dimensional fine structural interpretation, sedimentary evolution, reservoir evaluation, regional forming rules and other comprehensivegeological characteristics in the work area were carried, with the Shen257well field of deeperexploration as an anatomical living example. In consequence, we had found two optimizedexploration traps in the research area and deployed seven exploration well sites. Through there-evaluation the physical parameter, oil-bearing capacity and oil-producing capacity of thecoarse sand reservoir under the Es4Member of Paleogene in the work area,437.15104t tonof proved reserves was gained based on the given the minimum standards for reservoirevaluation, an increase about202.15104t ton and amplification of up to86.02%comparedwith the original235.00104t ton of proved reserves. This study on the western DamintunDepression belt slope is of important practical significance for the oil exploration and wellplacement in the future.
