Based on optical shade measuring method,a optical rainfall sensor principle,architecture and raindrop volume optical detection method are studied in this paper.Main works in the paper are as follows:1. A rain drop3D detection device is designed with high-speed linear array scanning in3D direction, including the upper and lower layers, the lower layer of light path consists of two-way detection light paths in X and Y directions, the upper layer of light path is located in the positive direction of Y-direction light path in the lower layer. The lower layer of light path is used for the detection of scale in the two horizontal directions of precipitation particle, the upper layer of light path and lower layer of Y-direction light path are used to measure the rain drop falling speed and the scale along the particle plumb.2. By analyzing the relation between the rain drop size and the axial ratio and falling speed, the rain drop is modeled to a spheroidicity or steamed bun shape, a new calculation method of rain drop volume optical detection is proposed, and calculation verification is conducted to the actual acquisition, according to the data of rain drop size, the approximate volume of the rain drop is calculated, with error maintained within7%.The3D detection device of rain drop improves the sampling accuracy and resolution of rain drop size, increase the identification of micro precipitation particles such as drizzle, the rain drop error calculated from the research on the above rain drop optical detection method is relatively small, which can meet the requirements of main detection technology like that the precipitation particle diameter measuring reaches the resolution of0.1mm, the precipitation particle diameter measuring range reaches0.2-25mm, and the precipitation particles of different shapes and sizes are identified, and basic system detection experiment is made to a series of technical indicators by laboratory detection means.
