While our country strongly initiate intensive society in recent years, the need ofsources especially coal source are increasing. Surface deformation, caused by coal mining,brings about damages to buildings, structures and environment. We have studied on followitems in order to find out patterns of surface deformation and thus decreasing the loss thatcoal mining brought to. Our studies are as follows:We organized and analyzed observation data by establishing mobile stations ofsurface where Long Gu mine locates in and get some rules of surface deformation. Aftercalculating parameters of deformation by probability integration method and estimatingdeformation according these parameters, we found a good result compared with measureddata. In addition, we found limitations of boundaries of surface subsidence.With the powerful data stimulating functions of soft FLAC3D, we analysis andmodeling according to the actual geological structure of mine. Because of discrepancies ofmodel and reality, there are some actual deviations between excavation and real conditions.Above all, the method of modeling reflects laws of deformation well and makes apreliminary investigation for surface.Then we organized observations of stations, did some regression analysis andgenerated the deformation prediction model based on early observations. By observationsin a long run, the reliability of our model has been tested.
