The magnetic measurement is of extremely important research value, and advanced measurement methods of magnetic field and high-performance magnetic field sensors have always been a key research area all over the world. Thanks to the rapid development of the atomic, molecular and optical physics, the precision measurement of the magnetic field has made huge progress. In this thesis, we mainly research the laser optical pumping magnetometer(OPM).OPM has higher sensitivity and sampling rate and is more convenient for integration because of its relatively simple structure. So it has a wider application prospect and higher research value than other types of magnetometers. We studied the Mz-OPM based on the radio frequency(RF) Excitation, got the optical pumping singnal,achieved the closed-loop lock and integrated a magnetic probing sensor finally on the basis of our laboratory platform. In addition, we also studied the frequency modulation Bell-Bloom (BB) OPM based on the optical excitation and got the phase lock signal. On the basis of accomplishing the principle validation, we assessed the noise level, improved the sensitivity and laid foundations for later integration and miniaturization of the system.In chapter one, we describe the important significance and application value of the magnetic measurement, in which the measurement of the biomagnetic field is highlighted combined with our subject. Chapter two introduces the principle of the OPM and illustrates the feasibility of two kinds of magnetic resonance method from a theoretical perspective. In chapter three, the system structure of the Mz-OPM and the test results are presented. Chapter four shows the research progress on the BB-OPM. In the last chapter, the author’s research is summarized and the future development of atomic magnetometer is discussed.
