Luanchuan3D Urban Geographic Information System mainly includes theobjects of building, road, vegetation, water and terrain distributed within the areaabout75square kilometers surrounding Luanchuan city zone.This paper has realizedthe3D virtual expression and spatial information management and analysis ofLuanchuan landscape through constructing the3D model and building attributeinformation database. However, the system development is difficult frominfrastructure and has a longer development cycle, unable to meet the urgent needsof Luanchuan in the city planning and management. If develop the system based on aprofessional3D GIS platform, whether the purchase or secondary development willrequire substantial funding, unbearable financial. Considering the advantages ofUnity3D in3D visualization,3D scene edit and high cost-effective on development,this paper puts forward the development method of Luanchuan3D Urban GIS withUnity3D, in order to achieve the purpose of reduce costs and shorten developmentcycles.This paper first introduces the framework of the system developmenttechniques and introduces the method of3D city landscape construction inLuanchuan by3DMax and Unity3D in detail. Secondly, the system functionalmodules based on Unity3D is designed and implemented. Then,an optimization scheme of Luanchuan3D scene is developed in order to solve theproblem of the3D scene browsing difficult through testing and analysis. Finally,introduces the application and testing of the system.(1) Systematic study of the model and scene construction scheme. In this paper,the Luanchuan landscape objects are divided into seven categories, i.e. terrain,building, road, vegetation, water, pipeline and sketch;3DMax is used to build thebuildings, some roads and vegetation, rivers, pipelines and other models; Unity3Dis applied to build the terrain, some roads and vegetation models, and withPhotoshop software production model textures, building simulation models of landscape objects. Unity3D is used to manage all kinds of landscape models, buildLuanchuan3D landscape and implement the rendering and display of Luanchuan3Dlandscape.(2) Design and development of five functional modules of the system.Luanchuan3D Urban GIS function includes scene browsing, information query,space measurement, pipelines browsing, and planning analysis. In this paper, usingNGUI plug-in to develop the system functionality interface; design attribute databasebased on SQLite; using the modular design techniques, and using C#, JavaScript toprogram the function script in the MonoDevelop platform, through comes call thefunctional components of Unity3D or run-time class to implement the five functionalmodules of system.(3) Study of the3D scene output optimization scheme. Experimental study therelationship between the amounts of3D model data, system resource usage andrendering efficiency, and system can carry the data of models. Through the researchon modeling optimization, LOD and multi-scale expression analysis technology,considering the current situation Luanchuan landscape current situation anddistribution. Using modeling optimization to reduce the total amount of model; usingLOD technology, multi-scale representation techniques to optimize the topography,vegetation, buildings, reducing the amount of data to participate in the rendering ofthe model. Achieve enhanced real-time scene rendering, improved system operationsmooth degree purposes.(4) Implement the basic application and tested of system. The main applicationsinclude Luanchuan landscape basic browsing, flight browsing, information query,space measurement, pipelines browsing, and planning analysis. Through the halfyear operation planning departments, to prove that the system is stable, and achievedthe anticipated goal.The Luanchuan3D Urban Geographic Information System based on Unity3D,not only small investment and short development cycle, but also low threshold andeasy to implement of the development. The development and application of thesystem will provide an important data support and decision-making basis for thescientific planning and management of Luanchuan, and also explores a new way in small3D Urban Geographic Information System development and application.
