From the1980s, people had worked on the evaluation of oil and gas resource inmiddle-shallow of the southern Songliao Basin, however, research is limited to summarize themacroscopic regularities, and which evaluate just in qualitative point. Since the Thirdresource evaluation, Jilin has made a lot of new exploration results, gradually increase thelevel of geological recognition. Some old and new understanding of the results do not matchor even contradictory, with the improvement of the accuracy requirements for exploration, theold understanding can not meet the need for further research, therefore, after a new geologicalstudy of southern Songliao Basin, it is necessary to carry out a new round of oil and gasresource evaluation work for have re-understanding in the southern Songliao Basin. In thispaper, a comprehensive geological analysis is based on the use of new theories, new methods, new technology research to establish the database, source rock evaluation model and calculatethe amount of hydrocarbon generation and expulsion of material balance method can be abasis for future resource evaluation and comprehensive study. Through the oil-sourcecorrelation and analysis of hydrocarbon enrichment rules to implement the main hydrocarbonsource rock and reservoir migration in different directions, dividing hydrocarbonaccumulation system, the source rock evaluation with partitions, create a resource allocationmodel, and to determine the transport coefficients by calibration, get the rest of the coefficientin the same way, study of oil migration process and controlling factors of hydrocarbonaccumulation, establishing hydrocarbon accumulation mode, summarizing the main controlfactors and accumulation mode of each reservoir combinations. Finally concluded thatorganic matter in source rocks increase of20%~78%over the three assessment and thecharacteristics of hydrocarbon generation and expulsion in oil shale is similar with which is inargillaceous source rocks, it is an important contribution to the resource.
