In1974, V.Kannan and M.Rajagopalan gave the concept of scattered spaces. In1990, D.S.Jankovic and T.R.Hamlet introduced the concept of ideal topological spaces. The paper gives the concept of ideal scattered spaces and study their properties. Itmainly includes the following three aspects:Firstly, it introduces the concept of-isolated points,-limits points and I-scatteredspaces, studies-isolated points,-dense sets and I-scattered spaces, and obtains equiv-alent conditions of I-scattered spaces.Secondly, it studies the topological sums and the mappings of I-scattered spaces.Thirdly, it discusses the relationships among I-D spaces, I-irresolvable spaces, I-hereditarily irresolvable spaces and I-scattered spaces.
