Chicken ovalbumin upstream promoter transcription factors (COUP-TFs) are members of the steroid receptor superfamily, belongs to orphan nuclear receptors super family. Two subtypes of COUP-TFs, COUP-TFI and COUP-TFII are found in mammals nervous system. COUP-TFs are distributed in many organs during development stages and play essential roles in many important life processes. In the present study, we demonstrated that COUP-TFI were expressed in SVZ-RMS-OB system of adult mice and were also expressed in type B, type C and type A cells in the SVZ. COUP-TFI immunopositive cells migrated along RMS, distributed in the OB, and ultimately located in the glomerular layer and granular cell layer. COUP-TFI was expressed in the majority of the TH-expressing interneurons, but not in the CR, CB, PV, Som, VIP, Tbrl and Tbr2immunopositive cells. COUP-TFI and Pax6were coexpressed in the SVZ and OB of adult mice, indicating that COUP-TFI might involve in the regulation of TH interneurons. COUP-TFII was not detected in the SVZ and the newborn OB interneurons of adult mice, indicating that COUP-TFII might not be involve in the adult neurogenesis. Most of COUP-TFII immunopositive cells were located in the granular cell layer and granular cell layer and scattered in external plexiform layer. COUP-TFII were not detected in the CR, CB, PV, TH, VIP or Som-expressing interneurons in OB, but were only found in Reelin immunopositive neurons which locate in glomerular and external plexiform layers. |
