Land is the carrier of all human survival but with the development of urbanization, theland resource demands are increased dramatically, which arouses contradiction betweenpeople and land; The scarcity of land resources require intensive land use, improve theperformance of land use. Xiangjiang river basin is the important industrial and agriculturalproduction base in the country and has the rapid process of urbanization, land resourcesbecoming quite precious, therefore, it has an important significance to measure the useperformance of xiangjiang river basin land for the land resource sustainable use of thexiangjiang river basin,and improve the relationship of man-earth relationship. It also canprovide some countermeasures and suggestions to the construction of “two type” society.Pursuant to these, in this paper, based on the interpretation of land use data, used grid as thebasic research unit, and from the two aspects of economy and ecology of land use inXiangjiang river basin to comprehensive consideration of land use performance ofspace-time distribution and variation characteristics. The results are as follows:From2000to2010, the cultivated land and unused land area of Xiangjiang river basinis reduced while right to use construction land; forest land and water area is increasing.Total amount of land use type change is4812.37km2, accounted for five point five fivepercent of the total area. Land use type change are mainly between cultivated land, grassland and construction land which account for sixty-six point seven percent of the totalchanging area, and one of the biggest changes is cultivated land transformed intoconstruction land,area of1283.00km2, accounted for26.66%of the total changing area.During the period of2000to2010, the number of output in xiangjiang river basinincreased by836.136billion yuan; the relative change rate of output is three hundred andninety-eight percent; the annual increase nearly eighteen percent; from2000to2005, theannual increase nearly nineteen percent and from2005to2010, the annual increase nearlysixteen percent. That is to say the economic output in Xiangjiang river basin has beenmaintained a high growth rate, however, the speed of growth is being reduced. The highdensity of economic output of Xiangjiang river basin mainly concentrated in the area ofchangsha-zhuzhou-xiangtan urban agglomeration, LouDi city and LiuYang city, LiLing cityand ningxiang county area. The economic density of xiangjiang river basin is small, and thedensity of regional economic output also exist obvious differences.In the10years from2000to2010, ecosystem service value of Xiangjiang river basinreduces1.436billion yuan; ecological service value decreased by zero point four sixpercent and the rate is negative zero point zero nine percent in a decade; During the periodof2000to2005, the total ecosystem service value decreased while during the period of 2005to2010total ecosystem service value increased slowly. During these ten years, thebiggest declines of ecological service value in five regions are Changsha, Xiangtan,WangCheng, Xingsha and the Xiangxiang, and ecological value reduction mainly caused bythe rapid expansion of city scale.From2000to2010, the performance of land use in Xiangjiang river basin increased by8347.33billion yuan; the performance of land use change is one hundred and sixty-onepoint two percent and the annual rate is ten point zero eight percent. In2000-2005theannual rate is nine point two six percent while from2005to2010,up toten point nine onepercent, that is to say the performance of land use in Xiangjiang river basin have beengrowing and the growth appears to be accelerating. The rank of the land use Performance asfollows: the first level is Changsha; the second Ningxiang, Wangcheng, Chenzhou City,Loudi and Changsha County; The third level is Ningxiang County, Wangcheng County,Chenzhou City, Loudi City and Changsha County, the fourth level is XiangyinCounty,Liuyang City,Youxian, Hengshan County, Hengdong County, Liling City, ShaoshanCity, Xiangxiang City Xiangtan County, Shaodong County, Leiyang City, Changning City,Zixing City, Jiahe County Yongxing County and other areas for the fifth grade.Innovative Points of This Paper:1) Study of land use of performance by economic output and ecological services value.2) Study of regional land use by according to the economic output of different land usetypes and ecological service value of different interpolation performance.
