The present thesis covers two main parts: the theoretical research of Lattice Boltzmann Method, and application of LBM in tight sandstone formations simulation ——Simulation in micro-flow channel around the barriers within the lattice Boltzmann method. After systematically introducing the origination, development and current situation of LBM, the physical and theoretical knowledge is described and give the derivation mathematical representation of the standard lattice Boltzmann equation. Moreover, the common particle velocity model and boundary conditions and grid of Lattice Boltzmann Method are described in detail. In engineering applications section, the microstructure and flow characteristics of tight sandstone were introduced, and we have simulated and analyzed two-dimensional fluid flow around a cylinder in the micrometre and nanometre level within microscopic pore throat used the D2Q9 modeland and the cyclical rebound format borders in the lattice Boltzmann method, first we verified the simulation results and analytical results are correct by comparing simulation results, and we studied the flow simulation problems in fluid flow with obstacle in the microscopic elongated flow channel, and discussed the flow phenomena in the two-dimensional flow paths under different Reynolds. Then we finished a Matlab programand flow numerical simulation in the channel. The results achieved our desired purpose.Based on the analysis above theoretical and experimental studies, this article studied the numerical simulation about the fluid in the tight sandstone seepage using the lattice Boltzmann method with a certain degree of innovation. The successful application of numerical simulation about the flow around cylindrical barriers within the microscopic elongated flow throat using the lattice Boltzmann method achieved certain results.
