Marine carbonate rocks are widespread in China, now Tarim basin, Sichuan basin and Erdos basin are becoming important regions for marine carbonate exploration. With development of technology, reservoir exploration has made great discoveries and outbreak at areas of Puguang, Yuanba and Tazhong. The carbonate rocks and the carbonate reef and bank are perfect reservoir for oil and gas. Reservoir of carbonate is regarded by geologists and geophysicists all the time.There are many kinds of trap in carbonate. They had much a lot of advantages for oil and gas generation and accumulation. Carbonate rocks from the simple definition, structure, classification, development of laws, such as sedimentary facies and depositional environment of reservoir geology to study the characteristics of seismic reflection characteristics, response characteristics of logging, reservoir identification and prediction techniques, are all important research in oil and gas exploration. There are still full of diffieulties in the course of exploration because carbonate reservoir are unconventional, irregular, multi-scale space distribution and restrictions of limited spatial resolution. For the complication of the problem, it is hard to make the precise results using the ordinary reservoir identification and prediction technique. The paper has researched the character of seismic response by numerical simulation.This paper introduces the classification and distribution of the reef, and at the same time, we analyse the characteristics of reef reservoir seismic, which laid the foundation for making the forward model and the modeling results explain. On the other hand, the article focuses on the convolution model of seismic wave field numerical simulation method. Through the geological modeling of the various types of carbonate reef flat reservoir, using the convolution of seismic imaging, establishing the corresponding formation carbonate rocks’ seismic response model, summary of reflected seismic wave field feature and reservoir prediction method, to a certain extent. It can guide the oil and gas exploration and explanation in a certain extent. This paper mainly carried out the following several aspects: firstly, we understand the morphological classification, the reef distribution and combined with the actual seismic data analysis of reef reservoir seismic response, response characteristics of carbonate reef flat. Secondly, the article discusses in detail the process of convolution algorithm and convolution method of synthetic seismic records, according to the control point to establish two-dimensional closed geological structure model based on the strategy, the forward convolution model and wave field numerical simulation of complex wave field imaging, and attempts at different frequencies, the effect is very good. Thirdly, we use the convolution method, constructed the typical point reef, reef, platform margin reef and tower beach reef geological model and forward modeling, and achieved good results.Finally, we combine the actual seismic and geological data in Yuanba, Panlongdong to establish the convolution forward model, using different frequency wavelet convolution algorithm is made of two reef, beach model, respectively, and the original seismic records were compared and analyzed, finally, the platform edge reef for forward numerical simulation using the low frequency wavelet is more ideal, and the selection of intermediate frequency for oolitic beach. The research on the current condition of low resolution carbonate seismic facies analysis and speculation plays an important role in the establishment of geological model.
