Soft sets can be used to deal with uncertain problems, which has been widely applied in decision making problems. This paper proposes a novel approach based on grey incidence analysis and MYCIN certainty factors, which describes decision making problems with fuzzy soft sets or intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets. Firstly, we do the treatment of initial data, and utilize grey mean incidence degrees or gray correlation coe?cients to obtain the uncertain degrees of various parameters; Secondly, on the basis of uncertain degrees, we can obtain the essence uncertainty factor of each independent alternative with each parameter; Thirdly, information can be fused in accordance with MYCIN certainty factor combination rule and the best alternatives are achieved; Fourthly, by using a numerical example, we compare the new approach with the Basu’s mean potentiality approach, which demonstrates the feasibility and e?ciency of it; In the end, we give an application to medical diagnosis problems. This paper mainly includes the following two aspects:Firstly, from the Angle of information fusion, we propose a new approach based on fuzzy soft sets or intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets;Secondly, we compare the new approach with the Basu’s mean potentiality approach, point out the problem situation which can be to deal with our approach but not the Basu’s approach. And then we give an example to illustrate the e?ciency and feasibility of the new method.
