The VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry) is a high resolution, high measurement precision of observation technology in astronomy. It is widely used in astrophysics, geodesy, geophysics and deep space probe.Over the last 10 years, China has also applied this technology in the China’s lunar exploration project "Chang Er" lunar and fall months observation missions. Using domestic 4 VLBI observation stations,5 telescopes and a data processing center of VLBI network in China, VLBI plays an extremely important role in the "Chang Er" precise orbit measurement and orbit determination tasks.As an important component of the terminal VLBI recording system (Mark5B), its main function is to record numerous astronomical data, which provides valuable information for astronomical research. Since the observation data are ultimately recorded in Mark5B recording system, therefore, the reliability and stability of Mark5B is crucial for the whole observation. In order to ensure the observation can be smoothly and reliably, a thorough knowledge of real-time status of recording system is very necessary. Since the original functions of the monitoring system are less, and its maneuverability is not strong, the monitoring system cannot meet the increasing demands of future observations. Thus, it is necessary to improve and perfect the existing monitoring system.The main work of this subject is to design a set of functional Mark5B monitoring system software, to further improve the reliability of VLBI terminal record system, and to safeguard VLBI observation data effective and high quality through new monitoring system,.The main functions of Mark5B monitoring system include accessing to the disk array information, getting the status of the records and the time synchronization, controling disk arrays, data transmission and remote login, etc. This study introduces the software design, software structure, software communications, software function and so on. This monitoring software uses QT development environment, and signals and slots mechanism of safety type, and design human-computer interaction interface, and complete data collection and network communication based on the QT creator integrated development environment (IDE).Following the completion of this subject, the Mark5B monitor system with functions of control, transmission and detect has been set up successfully. It can be not only conveniently manipulated, but also has perfect functions. At present, the Mark5B Monitor system software working in good condition has been applied in the VLBI terminal system in Urumqi Nanshan station, and has reached the expected goals. It not only can be used in the VLBI geodesy and astrophysical observations, and can be applied to the CVN lunar "long tube" observations and to other issues. This monitoring system can be as a complement of the VLBI station monitoring system.
