Energy is the material basis to support the progress of human civilization, at this stage to find a cleaner and long-term supply of new energy is the top priority. The 21 st century is the age of the Marine economy, ocean energy with its pollution-free, renewable of advantages will become the most potential new sources of energy, the ocean energy development has been listed as an important research topic. With the development of ocean engineering and ocean energy, wave technology arises of the historic moment.Firstly, the paper has a more comprehensive summary about the research background, elicites meaning of research from marine energy point of view, and summarizes the development process of the wave-maker at home and abroad, makes a detailed presentation about the structures, features and technical data of large wave flume. Then does a more simple introduction about for the finite element theory and ANSYS.Finally, as the basis of finite element analysis and outcome of structure optimize, mainly as key parts of beams, guide rail, slide carriage for the study, as characteristics of different model structure do finite element analysis, including static analysis and dynamic analysis, then optimize of profiles size and local structure based on the results of the simulation, in order to achieve the optimization objectives of "good performance, light weight", provided valuable data reference in the wave machine design for the future.The topic is one of the Department of Transportation projects, the construction of the building of the Large scale wave flume has been basically completed by science institute of Tianjin Water Transport Engineering, wave-maker installed inside the tank has completed by Institute of Mechanical Engineering in the Tianjin University of Technology, at the same time, this is the first collaboration by the Institute in China and other research institutions, which is analyzed and referenced the natural movement and characteristics of the waves, is independently designed and constructed. The trial wave flume system will become the world’s strongest of wave capacity and the largest-scale of wave simulation platform.
