Study of reservoir interlayer, is one of indispensable study to reveal the heterogeneity of reservoir.The existence of reservoir interlayer divide the oil reservoir into multiple connected or disconnected flow units,thus affecting the reservoir fluid movement.In the late of oilfield development, especially in high water-cut stage, the interlayer`s types, distribution,and attitude have an important control action on the distribution of remaining oil.In this stage,research of interlayer is mainly used in oil field development and residual oil distribution analysis,including the formation and distribution characteristics of interlayer,etc.There is a few scholars to reserch the modeling method for interlayer. Previous studies of interlayer insulation modeling is mainly based on sequential indicate method by a software named "petrel" to establish interlayer modeling.While this approach around the well pattern accuracy is higher, but there are limitations. It is only applicable to dense well pattern work area, in well spacing sparse work area, do not apply.M area as an example in this paper. We through the coring data to discern the interlayers, to isolate the interlayer two parts,one named barrier,another named intercalation. The causes are different, the barrier in the study area are generally characterized by large thickness, plane distribution stability.It is made by the flood plain of mudstone,and lied outside the sandstone pinchout line.And the intercalation is braided river channel when the lateral migration of residual shore/burst and flood plain deposits. It is mainly physical intercalation, the distribution range is small and strong randomicity, etc.Through the study of area,the interlayer can be identified and counted from about more than one hundred vertical and horizontal well logging data.We should be build barrier modeling and layer modeling,respectively.Especially the barrier, using the well seismic multipoint geostatistics combined modeling method. This way, for sparse pattern work area, the interwells use seismic constraints, the effect is remarkable.
