The optimal design of GPS engineering control network, plays an important role for promoting using GPS more widely in the construction. The study of optimal design of traditional engineering control networks has a long history. Many scholars developed lots of academic achievements. In this thesis, considering the speciality of GPS control network and taking large-scale cross sea project as the research object, the following contents are studied and discussed, based on deeply analyze and research of the theory of traditional control network optimal design:1. Summarize the classification and quality indicators of the control network optimal design; analyze the meaning of all kinds of design as well as the inner meaning of different quality indicators; study the solutions of different types of control network optimization; sum up the formulation method of the quality index and the optimized design;2. According to covariance propagation law, introduces the derivation of estimating a covariance matrix for GPS baseline measurements;3. Write a GPS control network optimal design assistant program that helps the designers to modifying the initial design scheme by adding or removing the observations and points. The program can also display the changes of the net shape in real time. Furthermore, designers can check the precision and reliability of the network at any time in the design process;4. Accomplish the optimal design work which is aiming at high reliability and high precision for a certain strait; Propose four kinds of observation schemes and chose the best one as the horizontal control network for the cross-ocean tunnel with particular analysis and comparison of different schemes. The final scheme with high precision and high reliability can achieve the requirement of the cross-ocean project;5. Based on the final scheme that is designed for the strait, using a strict algorithm to estimate the mean square error of lateral link-up in the GPS tunnel control network. Write a program to calculate and analyze the influence of the error of the horizontal control network for the cross-ocean tunnel;...
